Forum sessions included:
Experience in building affordable housing on church property from lay leaders at Fairlington Presbyterian Church in Alexandria, plus a presentation from Kamilah McAfree of Wesley Housing, an experienced nonprofit housing developer.
The role of faith communities in supporting advocacy for affordable housing, plus housing services for persons with disabilities and formerly homeless. Speakers included Jill Norcross, of Northern Virginia Affordable Housing Alliance, Shannon Steene of Carpenters Shelter, and Donna Budway of Our Stomping Ground.
Best practices in how faith communities can support affordable housing and other public benefits from Rev. Joseph Williams from Enterprise’s Faith Based Development Initiative, and Rick Reinhard and Rev. Daniel Pryfogle of Sympara.
