VEREP is creating a GIS database to give congregations powerful tools for mission-based property decisions.
Project Details
The database combines diocesan property information with census and mapping data.
A GIS (Geographic Information System) database* layers maps with data such as property records, demographics, and community statistics.
This tool will allow parishes to see where their buildings are, understand neighborhood needs, and create regional or congregational reports.
Community Impact
The database will provide clergy and lay leaders with robust insights to make informed real estate and ministry decisions.
Status
In Development — Database creation and testing underway.
*What is a GIS Database?
A GIS (Geographic Information System) database is a map-based tool that layers property records with demographic and community data. It helps congregations see where their buildings are, understand the needs of their neighborhoods, and explore how real estate can best support mission and ministry.
