VEREP Receives $225,000 Grant for Mission Real Estate Work

Grant News VEREP

Virginia Episcopal Real Estate Partners (VEREP) has received a $225,000 grant from Virginia Housing to expand its mission-driven real estate work across the Diocese of Virginia. This investment supports congregations in reimagining their properties for affordable housing, community services, and sustainable ministry.

The grant from Virginia Housing will provide resources for VEREP to continue guiding churches through feasibility studies, discernment processes, and creative redevelopment strategies. This funding strengthens VEREP’s ability to walk alongside clergy and lay leaders as they consider new ways their properties can serve neighbors and respond to pressing community needs.

VEREP Executive Director Wendy R. Evans noted that this grant reflects growing recognition of the Episcopal Church’s role in addressing Virginia’s housing challenges while sustaining parish life and mission.
