VEREP Awarded Two Grants from Virginia Housing

Virginia Housing and VEREP

Virginia Episcopal Real Estate Partners (VEREP) has been awarded two grants from Virginia Housing to support both feasibility studies and affordable housing awareness across the Diocese of Virginia. These grants build on previous work helping congregations reimagine their properties for mission and community impact.

The first grant of $82,000 will fund a feasibility study at Iglesia de Santa Maria in Falls Church, exploring whether the church’s property can support new affordable housing development. Similar studies have already been completed at Christ Ascension, Richmond and Trinity, Arlington, helping congregations discern faithful and practical next steps.

The second grant of $50,000 will support affordable housing awareness efforts, including redevelopment of the VEREP website, production of new print resources, and workshops to equip congregations and community leaders in understanding housing needs and opportunities.

Together, these investments strengthen VEREP’s ability to walk alongside churches as they balance spiritual vision with practical strategy for their properties.
